Gary Roller

Artist, Bass Player and Vocalist

Lives in Albuquerque, NM

Currently performs on stage with Michael as the Bass Player and Backup Vocalist in the Rio Grande Band.

Having toured with Michael for over 25 years, Gary is the longest-standing member of the Rio Grande Band and a southwestern artist of great renown. Gary is known for depicting the various cultures of the rugged southwestern landscape. His art often focuses on the spiritual life of the Native American as a powerful symbol which expresses universally understood life experiences. Gary creates art prints, sculptures, and fountains. The idea of enriching lives through the visual and entertainment arts provides the vital pool of inspiration from which Gary Roller draws his dynamic creative energies. Like the various spokes of a wheel, reaching in all directions from its hub, Roller expresses that energy through a variety of creative mediums which touch the lives of people throughout the world. David Coe

Fiddler and Mandolinist

Lives in Nashville, TN

Currently performs on stage with Michael playing fiddle and mandolin in the Rio Grande Band.

David Coe has been touring and performing with Michael for over 20 years. He is also a solo artist and has released two albums entitled “The Traveler” and “My Own House”, both available at Michael’s concerts.

Pat Flynn

Guitarist, Songwriter, Vocalist

Lives in Nashville, TN

Currently performs on stage with Michael as the Lead Guitarist and Backup Vocalist in the Rio Grande Band.

Has played guitar on many of Michael’s albums.

Has co-written songs with Michael.

Pat Flynn is one of Nashville’s most talented artists. As a member of New Grass Revival, Flynn, along with Sam Bush, John Cowan, and Béla Fleck, influenced many of today’s best-known artists while building New Grass Revival’s own loyal audience to near cult status. During his tenure with NGR, Frets magazine’s National Readers Poll voted Pat as “Best Acoustic Guitarist” for five consecutive years. For winning five years in a row, Flynn was inducted into the Frets “Gallery of Greats” alongside Chet Atkins, Doc Watson and Tony Rice. Flynn has also been a session guitarist on more than 400 CD projects, including 32 Gold and Platinum records, as well as CMA and Grammy award winning projects with a wide array of top artists.

Bobby Blazier

Drummer and Producer

Lives in Nashville, TN

Currently performs on stage with Michael as the Drummer in the Rio Grande Band.

Bobby has been touring with Michael for several years and has produced a number of albums.

 

Troy Ingle

Fiddler and Mandolinist

Lives in Nashville, TN

Currently performs on stage with Michael as the Backup Fiddler and Mandolinist in the Rio Grande Band.

Troy has been touring with Michael for several years and often plays shows when David Coe is unavailable.

Ryan Murphey

Grammy-Nominated Producer, Songwriter, Guitarist and Vocalist

Lives in Nashville, TN

Produced Michael’s latest two albums “Buckaroo Blue Grass” and “Buckaroo Blue Grass II”.

Has toured with Michael as the Lead Guitarist and Backup Vocalist in the Rio Grande Band.

Has co-written songs with Michael.

Ryan is Michael’s oldest son. He has worked with Michael extensively throughout most of his career in many areas. He co-wrote the 1988 hit “Talkin’ To The Wrong Man” which was released on the “River of Time” album, toured with Michael extensively in the late ’90s and early 2000′s, played guitar on many of Michael’s records, and is currently Michael’s go-to producer. He produced Michael’s latest two albums “Buckaroo Blue Grass” and “Buckaroo Blue Grass II” which were both nominated for Grammy Awards. He has also produced three albums of original material entitled “Good Eats Cafe”, “Ruby Red” and Miracle Street. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Nashville where he teaches English to high school students.

Brennan Murphey

(a.k.a. Planewalker)

DJ, Guitarist, Sound Engineer, Songwriter and Vocalist

Lives in Boise, ID

Has occasionally played guitar on stage and in the studio with Michael.

Is currently teaching Michael home recording technology.

Brennan is Michael’s youngest son and currently works with Michael in many areas, both artistically and in business. Primarily known as an electronic music DJ and producer, he has released seven albums ranging from hip-hop to trance and has played many shows for dance floors around the globe. He was known to sing “Pilgrims On The Way” on stage with Michael when he was a boy, and later would make the occasional appearance playing a lead guitar solo on stage or in the studio.
